Position: Leadership and Technical Opportunities – Dam, Levee and Flood Resilience with HDR
Overview

HDR is seeking qualified individuals to provide project, geographic and technical leadership in the dam, levee and flood resilience programs. HDR is employee-owned and highly ranked in ENR for Dams and Reservoirs and in Hydropower. HDR's dam, levee and flood resilience program aims to improve resiliency, sustainability and safety of communities. HDR engineers are leading the way to solve our toughest water infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide project, geographic and technical leadership in dam, levee and flood resilience management projects as engineers of record, group managers and technical practice leaders.
  • Develop and apply expertise in potential failure mode analysis (PFMA) as needed.
  • Collaborate with HDR teams across locations, with relocation or remote opportunities; HDR has over 200 locations in the United States.
  • Contribute to design and management of complex dam, levee and flood resilience projects to improve resiliency, sustainability and safety of communities.
  • Engage with HDR Dams, Levee and Civil Works Leadership and Talent Acquisition to identify opportunities.
  • Be open to opportunities near you by expressing interest and applying to specific openings as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Civil, structural, geotechnical or hydraulic engineers with experience in dam, levee and flood resilience projects.
  • Experience as engineers of record, group managers or technical practice leaders is valued.
  • Expertise in potential failure mode analysis and related analyses (seepage, stability, dam safety, levee safety).
  • Experience with software and tools such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/SEEP, APILE, LPILE, SHAKE, FEMA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FLAC, Seep/W, Slope/W, and related geotechnical/hydraulic analysis packages.
  • Familiarity with agencies such as USACE, FERC, NRCS, Bureau of Reclamation; knowledge of regulatory and design standards for water resources infrastructure.
  • Willingness to relocate or work remotely; HDR supports flexible work arrangements and has many locations nationwide.
