About Crystal Systems InnovationsCrystal Systems Innovations (CSI) is a research company specializing in the solidification of sapphire, silicon, and slicing of hard ceramic materials using its proprietary Fast Fixed Abrasive Slicing Technique for high-temperature silicon and sapphire.
The company has been conducting high-temperature materials research and development since 1971, focusing on advancing sapphire crystal growth using its Heat Exchange Method (HEM) and Ceramic Slicing with its unique Fixed Abrasive Slicing Technique.
Role OverviewWe seek a hands-on Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, improving processes, and driving results through continuous improvement initiatives. Must have practical experience with high-temperature materials, manufacturing equipment, and shop tools, actively supporting and optimizing production processes, managing engineering projects from concept to completion, and collaborating across teams. Mechanical skills, proactive mindset, and ownership are essential for success.
Responsibilities- Conduct experiments for high-temperature sapphire and silicon crystal growth using the Heat Exchange System (HEM) to enhance crystal growth.
- Apply both practical and theoretical skills.
- Operate and modify shop equipment as needed.
- Document crystal growth and slicing procedures, including characterization results.
- Utilize mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering skills.
- Communicate feedback on R&D experiments.
- Analyze data and apply critical thinking in process development.
- Use characterization equipment (e.g., SEM).
- Work independently and collaboratively, fostering teamwork.
- Engineering degree or equivalent; 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing or development environment.
- Successful project execution record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with manufacturing and shop equipment.
- Desired experience in process validation, data analysis, automation, controls systems, and outside-the-box thinking.
- Proficiency with standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
