Position: Crisis Clinician 2 (Underfill) - Behavioral Health Crisis Center

Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Crisis Center with Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and professional individual. If you enjoy working with individuals throughout our community and want to try to collaborate with a trauma informed, person centered team; this may be the right fit for you! A qualified candidate for this position will enjoy working the frontline in a crisis stabilization center and be able to work with a team of other professionals.

The position is full-time, working Sunday - Tuesday, 6:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m.

- 7:30 p.m. This position is eligible for employee benefits, and we offer licensure supervision.

Wages
  • Crisis Clinician 1: $29.54 - $39.58 hr.
  • Crisis Clinician 2: $35.83 - $48.00 hr.
  • A wage enhancement of $1.25 will be added to the hourly wage as compensation for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
General Statement of Duties Crisis Clinician 2

Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is to provide assessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or to develop and implement specific services in the community.

Crisis

Clinician 1

Plans and carries out recreational, social and skills training activities; performs case management and counseling functions with Adults in Custody (AIC); facilitates counseling and/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is case management and counseling, without responsibility for developing and implementing specific programs in the community.

Supervision Received

Works under the supervision of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

Supervision Exercised

Supervision of others is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. Crisis Clinician 2 may act as Clinical Supervisor designee when needed. May assist in the supervision of practicum students and/or volunteers.

Counseling to Crisis Clients

Provide counseling by telephone or in‑person to individuals and/or their families or concerned others. Intervene with both children and adults. Presenting problems covering the full range of personal needs and include thoughts/plans of violence toward others, and major psychiatric illness. Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling.

This work is done at multiple locations each day (including Salem, Silverton, and Santiam Hospital Emergency Departments; juvenile detention; community outreach and at BHCC). Driving is required.

Assessment of Mental Status

Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service. Screen individuals for psychiatric hospitalization.

Planning Development

Develop plans with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self.

Community Coordination

Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies to make referrals appropriately. See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow‑up work as needed, to make certain that clients’ needs are met.

Other Responsibilities
