• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university in RF electronic technologies plus more than 8 years of related experience and/or training in maintaining and troubleshooting complex communications systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to train a variety of individuals.
• Three to five years’ experience with 2‑way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computing tools to program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems.
• Experience in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and programming wireless communication equipment such as 2‑way radios, transmitters, receivers, and antennas for customers.
• Experience with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems. Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF theory as they apply to wireless communications.

The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of technicians and ensure that major projects in the area have the technical resources to be successfully deployed. The person in this role will also work in a service shop and assist that shop with day‑to‑day technical needs.

• Work with shop managers and technicians to conduct, facilitate, and execute training plans, creating plans that are both collective and tailored to each technician’s level.
• Develop formalized classroom training as well as on‑the‑job (OJT) practical training, progressing the technical team from Apprentice through Senior System Technician.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies while creating and maintaining training records.
• Develop ongoing training standards and minimums for progression at each technical level.
• Review technician knowledge to confirm standards are met for advancement and provide feedback to supervisors.
• Assist with scheduling and conduct OJT training.
• Conduct senior technician meetings to discuss technical topics.
• Assist service managers and lead technicians in reviewing major projects during presale and post‑sale phases, including scope, technician readiness, local OJT, task checklists, and quality control.
• Attend weekly shop manager Teams meetings.
• Travel within assigned territory and other locations for training, meetings, and education.
