Oregon Public Defense Commission (OPDC)

The OPDC is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative QA/QC Data Analyst to join our Research and Data team. In this critical role, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the data that drives OPDC’s strategic contracting, policy development, and legislative advocacy efforts.

What You Will Do

The research and data staff ensures that OPDC’s work is clearly understood by internal staff, state leaders, and public defense providers, and that agency decisions are grounded in equitable, evidence-based research.

Duties Quality Assurance & Quality Control

This role develops, analyzes, and evaluates data to support OPDC’s strategic work. It manages caseload reporting processes, performs extensive quality assurance and quality control, audits and corrects data issues, collaborates with research and application development teams to test system updates, and resolves data-processing problems. The position recommends system improvements, maintains documentation and process manuals, and responds to inquiries from public defense providers.

Report

Development

Assists in preparing and delivering management presentations and contributes to developing standardized statistical reports.

Relationship Management

Supports effective teamwork by assisting colleagues and supervisors, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies, and improving quality across agency divisions. Builds strong, positive relationships with internal and external partners through constructive participation in projects and problem‑solving. Fosters a respectful, productive, and inclusive workplace.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or a related field, plus at least 2 years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work.
  • Alternative:
    Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five (5) years of experience.
