Job Description

Parole & Probation Manager, Community Corrections Manager 1 (Albany) – Linn County Parole and Probation Community Corrections.

Note:

This position is scheduled to receive a Cost‑of‑Living Adjustment (COLA) of 2.5% effective February 1, 2026, and an additional 4.0% COLA effective January 1, 2027. These increases are not reflected in the salary range listed in this posting.

Applicants who qualify for PERS may be eligible for an adjusted salary range reflecting an additional 6.95%.

About the Job – Your Role

You will play a vital role in reducing recidivism, minimizing victimization, and promoting reformation through accountability, support, and service coordination. As the manager you will oversee a large, multidisciplinary team of Parole and Probation Officers (POs), volunteers, and contract personnel—ensuring supervision practices comply with all applicable statutes, policies, and standards.

In this role, you will manage day‑to‑day operations and multiple agency functions, providing oversight of staff performance, coaching, and training in partnership with designated training officers. You will also implement and update policies and procedures, collaborate with community partners such as treatment providers and transitional housing programs, and support successful AOS outcomes by ensuring access to vital services.

You will act as a liaison between the agency and external stakeholders, playing a key role in improving community safety through integrated service delivery. Additionally, you will assume the responsibilities of the Local Community Corrections Director in their absence.

This position is management services and is eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
OR Two (2) years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Employees are required to receive certification by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in Basic Probation and Parole within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Employees are required to obtain Supervisory and Management Certification through DPSST within two (2) years of hire unless certifications are already obtained, and the employee is in good standing.

Employees must maintain an appropriate Oregon State driver license to drive a vehicle in usual and emergency situations.

Employees must maintain a qualifying score with duty firearm(s) if they are authorized to carry them for duty.

Requested Skills
  • Experience in direct supervision of multidisciplinary teams (POs, case aides, volunteers, etc.)
  • Ability to apply and enforce policies, procedures, and legal standards (statutes, administrative rules, agency policies)
  • Experience interpreting criminal justice or correctional regulations.
  • Familiarity with evidence‑based practices in parole and probation supervision
  • Understanding of risk/needs assessments and supervision strategies
  • Managing program goals, caseload flow, staffing resources, and reporting
