Leading the Vendor Management Transformation:
This Director role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the Low-Voltage Vendor Management function, driving operational excellence and vendor partnership within Oracle's Data Center Infrastructure Delivery team. The successful candidate will have a direct impact on the efficiency, quality, and success of low-voltage installations across global data center projects. With a focus on strategic leadership, people development, and vendor relationship management, the Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Oracle's data centers are built to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Set the vision and strategy for Low-Voltage Vendor Management, aligning it with Oracle's overall data center objectives.
Develop and implement best-in-class vendor management practices, processes, and performance metrics.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and vendor partnership.
People and Team Development:
Lead and inspire a talented team of vendor management professionals, providing mentorship and growth opportunities.
Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, providing updates on vendor-related initiatives.
Present vendor performance insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Vendor Relationship and Performance Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key low-voltage vendors, ensuring long-term partnerships.
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, defining service‑level agreements and performance expectations.
Regularly assess vendor performance, conduct business reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence and Process Optimization:
Implement robust processes for vendor qualification, selection, and onboarding, ensuring a streamlined approach.
Optimize material management and logistics processes related to low-voltage installations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
Risk Mitigation and Change Leadership:
Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to low-voltage vendors, ensuring project continuity.
Manage and approve change orders, considering their impact on cost, schedule, and performance.
Global Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with global data center teams to align vendor management practices and standards.
Coordinate vendor activities across multiple data center sites, ensuring consistency and knowledge sharing.
Industry Insights and Innovation:
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage systems and vendor engagement.
Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance vendor performance and overall data center efficiency.
Contract and Compliance Management:
Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational requirements.
Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and vendor performance evaluations.
Requirements15+ years of progressive experience in vendor management, program/project management, or a related field, with a strong focus on people leadership.
Proven track record in managing and leading vendor relationships, preferably in the data center, construction, or infrastructure industry.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
