Position

Summary

The Maintenance Planner will play a role in ensuring that all preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks are efficiently planned and scheduled to support continuous production and minimize equipment downtime. This position is responsible for developing maintenance strategies, creating work orders, coordinating production and maintenance teams, and managing spare parts and resources. The planner analyzes maintenance data, monitors asset health, and applies best practices to improve plant availability and reliability.

Core skills include strong organizational abilities, technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, effective communication, and the aptitude to coordinate across departments and with external vendors. In this role, efficiency in planning, strong decision-making, and a grasp of modern maintenance practices are essential for supporting the operational goals of the manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Planner has a responsibility to ensure that all equipment used in manufacturing and/or rolling stock is always in the condition to be operable to ensure maximum production.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System, Maintain X and D365 for scheduling, documentation and tracking.
  • Prepare and execute daily, weekly and monthly Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Manager on all aspects of production, safety, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor inventory of machinery and equipment spares.
  • Ensure spares are available as needed.
  • Preps supplies and parts kits for maintenance activities.
  • Participate in coordination of projects.
  • Understand and operate plant equipment safely and efficiently within company standards.
  • Assists with daily duties.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Take calls on off-hours to assist operations.
  • Comply with all safety rules and procedures set forth by company, state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Performs any other duties as directed by Maintenance Manager.
  • Reports any issues to Maintenance Manager.
  • Helps train staff or facilitate knowledge transfer of maintenance procedures.
Position Requirements /Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ supervisory/manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time (12 hours minimum).
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. continuously during shift, including twisting, turning or bending with or without product in hand.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental temperatures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are recorded in accordance with standards and relevant regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with 3rd Party Vendors and Contractors while coordinating specialized work.
  • Assist in advancing reliability, Lean or TPM initiatives and ongoing process optimization.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis after failures and use data to recommend process improvements.
