Zone Relief Therapeutic Mentor

As a Zone Relief Therapeutic Mentor (TM-ZR), you will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in their communities. TM-ZRs work when there are long-term openings or need for additional staff. As a TM-ZR, you will provide a feeling of reassurance, stability, and support to your team members and people supported. If you have at least one year of experience working with people with I/DD and are able to work a variety of shifts with chosen days off during the week and participate in an on-call rotation, this job may be the fit for you.

TM-ZRs are able to walk into any situation, pick up where needed, and ensure that people are supported in a way that promotes a person-centered life.

Full-Time, 35-40 hours weekly with additional compensated overtime during on-call week.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be licensed to drive and maintain a clean driving record and meet company insurance eligibility requirements.
• Must have at least 1 year of employment or volunteer experience with People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
• Must have and show basic computer skills and can learn agency applications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized and attentive to detail.
• Cooperative and willing to learn.
• Ability to interpret various instructions.
• Enhanced math skills – must be able to accurately balance a budget and basic math transactions.
• Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills both expressive and receptive.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with applicable law.

• This position requires that you be able to work a variety of shifts. Including, but not limited to, days, awake overnights, and any position needed to fit the needs of the person/persons in the home. Working weekends (Saturday and Sunday) is a requirement for this position. The working location of your schedule varies.
• The work schedule is given to you at least two weeks in advance.
• You will be scheduled for a minimum of 36 hours each week except for the week you are on-call.
• You will be on-call for one week (Weekend) once a month and will be expected to work up to 8 hours of overtime during the on-call week, as needed.
• TM-ZRs may travel to these counties to provide support:
  Marion, and Polk.
• Various positions may involve administering medications, cooking, house cleaning, yard maintenance, handling challenging behaviors, and intimate care.

• Provide a stable living environment by respecting dignity, individual choice, input, and health and safety needs.

• Must be able to lift and transfer 25 pounds minimum; some positions may require more.
• Appropriately and efficiently responding to emergencies and/or crises (including but not limited to the use of physical intervention).
