Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU Float RN with strong telemetry or intermediate care experience and an active OR RN license.

• Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) float pool at a short-term acute care hospital
• Serves adult inpatient units including MS/Tele, stepdown, IMC, ICU, emergency department, and psychiatric medical center
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4-6 for RNs
• Floats within scope including to West Valley Hospital as needed
• Shift is 12-hour nights, 19:00-07:30
• Works every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Float Pool team members support various adult inpatient units across the organization and sister hospital
• Royal blue scrubs required
• COVID vaccination is required without exemptions
• Strict RTO policy in place; requests must be submitted at time of application and cannot be changed
• Must be gone for 6 months before returning as a traveler with this system
• First-time travelers are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

• Active OR RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele, PCU, or IMC RN experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Proficient in telemetry management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and managing dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac drips such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Skills in non-invasive airway and O2 protocol management, peripheral line management, and rapid response team activation
• Epic EMR experience required
