Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring strong telemetry or IMC experience and an active OR RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and float pool within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center
- Adult patient population in MS/Tele/Stepdown/IMC units supported by the float pool team
- Typical patient ratios are 1:4-6 for RNs and 1:6-13 for CNAs during day shifts
- Facility uses Epic for charting and EMR;
Epic experience is required - 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope including to a nearby sister hospital
- Role includes supporting various adult inpatient units and may include areas such as ICU, ED, psych, rehab, and vascular access
- No first-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
- Royal blue scrubs are required per dress code
- Free parking is provided on site
- Return staff must have been gone for at least 6 months to be eligible as a traveler
- Strict RTO rules apply; any time off over 10 days requires approval and RTO requests cannot be changed after submission
- Active, unencumbered Oregon RN license in hand
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (through AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the past 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU or IMC
- Strong experience with telemetry, including management and interpretation of cardiac rhythms and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac drips such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
- Ability to perform rapid response team activation, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, and isolation protocols
- Computerized documentation skills with required Epic experience
