American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 1 year of recent telemetry/PCU experience and an active or pending Oregon RN license.

• Surgical Neuro Trauma Care Unit (SNTCU), a 30-bed unit within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4, with CNA ratios of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
• Every other weekend required, but not guaranteed every weekend
• Floating required within the facility and to West Valley Hospital, approximately 15 minutes away, with priority given to that location
• Uses Epic for charting

• Active or pending Oregon RN license required
• OR RN license required
• Current BLS certification required through AHA
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU required
• Neuro trauma stepdown experience with NIHSS certification preferred
• Required skills:
  
  telemetry management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, dysrhythmia management, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE, and experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, other IMCU gtts)
• Experience with rapid response team activation and computerized documentation required
• Epic charting experience required
• IV start/therapy experience preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required

• Care for patients with a wide variety of surgical and neurotrauma medical conditions in a newly opened unit (opened July 2022)
• Unit is expected to transition into a Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU/IMCU within the next few years
• Scrub color required:
  Royal Blue
• Parking is free
• RTO requests beyond 2 weeks require facility approval
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Local candidates accepted
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months after termination before being eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
