American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Prep-Recovery position requiring prior Phase I/II recovery experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Requirements- Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Oregon
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- ACLScertification required
- PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years of Prep Recovery - Phase II experience
- Minimum of 1 year acute PACU experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Experience with cardiovascular, vascular, and plastics surgery patient care preferred
- Experience caring for patients undergoing a variety of surgical specialties, including ortho, neuro, GI, GU, GYN, and bariatric procedures preferred
- Work in the PACU/Prep-Recovery (Phase I recovery) unit of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with start times between , scheduled as 3x12s or 4x9s depending on staffing needs
- 36 hours per week
- No night shift, call, or holiday requirements
- May be required to float within the facility or to nearby affiliated facilities, with priority given to West Valley Hospital
- Provide safe, quality nursing care across the surgical services continuum, including Pre-Surgical Screening, Prep/Recovery, Operating Room, Endoscopy, and PACU
- Responsibilities include pre/post-operative assessments, patient education, medication administration, and discharge instructions
- Perform pain assessment and management, including PCA pump management
- Monitor for dysrhythmias and manage cardiac telemetry
- Support patients recovering from a wide range of anesthesia types including general, spinal, and MAC
- Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from their termination date before being eligible for travel assignments
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
- RTO requests must be finalized prior to consideration for the position
