Base pay range: $15.55/hr - $18.30/hr.
PositionRetail Keyholder – with moderate supervision, assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. Provides outstanding guest service within a sales culture that leverages Game Stop’s Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model. Ensures products are accessible and purchasable, supports sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.
Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video game needs, inform guests about promotions and trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and express gratitude to every guest. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest questions in person or by phone, respond promptly and professionally to ensure top-tier guest service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits such as title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandise presentation according to guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety procedures; assist with bank deposits as required.
- Conduct inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products to ensure representation and organization on the selling floor.
- Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed accurately; maintain sufficient cash and change for transactions.
- Check shipments for discrepancies, report issues to management, and record discrepancies in the POS system.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Adhere to all Game Stop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills and the ability to provide genuine and friendly assistance.
- Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations, including attendance, dress, and grooming.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self-motivation and teamwork to complete tasks in a timely manner; problem-solving and judgment abilities.
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions and deliver bank deposits following loss prevention guidelines.
- Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs to a height of 4 feet; stand and move for up to 10 hours per day.
