Job Description
Provide exceptional customer service to help people live healthier lives by treating our customers/employees fairly and ethically, providing a safe, clean, inclusive environment, and delivering the right products, services, and care at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Offer direct patient intervention with health and wellness services in accordance with state and federal laws. Responsibilities- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs, and identify unsafe conditions for store management.
- Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
- Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
- Maintain departmental standards, keeping workstations and customer waiting areas clean and organized.
- Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
- Complete billing procedures to assure best value for the customer and company.
- Answer phone calls, triage inquiries, and respond as appropriate.
- Adhere to vendor coupon, cash shortage, and company shrink guidelines.
- Operate the cash register, following all cashier handling policies to prevent loss, including electronic fund transactions (Credit/Debit Cards, EBT and Gift Cards, cash, and checks).
- Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
- Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
- Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and company policies regarding confidential information.
- Support company health and wellness initiatives.
- Put away legal orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information.
- Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
Desired:
- Any previous comparable experience.
- Any equivalent experience in a pharmacy clerk role.
- Familiarity with EPRN.
