Position: Sales Representative I, Medicare

Job Summary

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of competitive sales strategy and retention activities for Medicare markets, providing a positive experience to customers with Medicare, supporting collaboration within teams to support customer needs for Medicare markets, and executing sales for Medicare markets with detailed guidance from a supervisor; and meeting routine goals for sales and retention of Medicare markets.

  • Ensures a high level of customer service is provided by helping to identify appropriate solutions based on lead/prospect/customer needs, fulfilling performance and service quality goals, exhibiting basic knowledge about various health plans and benefits to convey KP’s unique value proposition, and helping to resolve standard lead/prospect/customer questions or issues in a timely manner.
  • Serves as an advocate for process improvement by identifying solutions for overcoming obstacles to sales initiative progress and ensuring objectives are met on time and/or within budget, acting as a sales subject matter expert by participating in work groups to meet department objectives, improving existing process‑related initiatives, applying routine methods for continuous improvement of tools and technology, utilizing basic knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, escalating compliance risks, tracking performance trends, and contributing to group enrollment processing.
  • Generates prospective sales by helping to organize open enrollment events, preparing material for formal presentations, building relationships with key influencers, brokers, consultants, and community groups, exhibiting knowledge of prospecting and referral networks, collecting and submitting materials for new business opportunities, and maintaining and using sales databases and reports to win new leads and provide updates to the team.
  • Contributes to strategic development by developing strategy to meet annual sales targets and initiatives, gathering data for sales status reports, utilizing research to articulate internal strategies, analyzing competitor and industry trends, assisting team members to maximize performance, and collaborating on optimal offering conditions and market segmentation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent, or minimum one (1) year of experience working in a corporate or business office environment, which may include relevant internship experience.
  • Disability Insurance License (Washington) obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Health Insurance License (Oregon) obtained within 3 months of hire.
