The Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) invites you to become a Correctional Officer at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. You will set limits, provide role models, and facilitate positive change for adults in custody (AIC). DOC offers positions across Oregon – locations include Baker City, Ontario, Salem, Madras, Portland, Tillamook, Pendleton, Umatilla, and Lakeview.

- High school diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- United States citizen
- Meet DPSST Physical Standards
- Reading comprehension, report writing, and retention abilities
- Completed ODOC background investigation OAR 259‑008‑0015
- Minimum NTN test score of 70% in all areas
- Good employee work history
- Law‑abiding behavior (OAR 259‑008‑0070)
- Pass psychological evaluation and risk assessment per HB 2936
- No evidence of substance abuse
- Proficient using computers
- Valid driver’s license
- Drug‑testing required during employment
- Good ratings: teamwork, control of situations, support management goals, integrity, communication
- Acceptable ratings: grammar and written content comprehension
- Low risk ratings: professionalism with offenders, avoiding abrasive behavior, experience in public safety roles
Work in a team setting to maintain order within the institution, enforce rules, and provide safety and security. Duties include cell checks, contraband searches, dispute resolution, discipline enforcement, and safety inspections.
