This role focuses on the well‑being and development of children and youth in temporary lodging, ensuring compassionate care while effectively managing resources.
Summary of Duties- Oversee daily activities, ensuring safety, hygiene, and well‑being of youth in temporary lodging, including school attendance and appointments.
- Provide behavioral support and redirection to youth as needed.
- Transport youth to school, appointments, and social activities.
- Coordinate temporary lodging supervision and activities.
- Identify and recommend necessary services to caseworkers for case planning.
- Collect and document information objectively from case providers, clients, family members, schools, and other sources to support family time planning.
- Safeguard the safety and well‑being of youth.
- One year of experience in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR
- An associate degree in any field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience engaging diverse individuals, de‑escalating tense situations, and maintaining boundaries while communicating with caseworkers and coordinators.
- Experience collaborating with co‑staff and other team members to ensure seamless care.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and leads for efficient operations and quality care.
- Application of equitable practices and trauma‑informed care in client interactions.
- Adaptability to changing environments and shifting priorities.
- Problem‑identifying and generating effective solutions.
- Work locations: offices, homes of participants, community sites, and hotels.
- Travel: occasional travel, including overnight travel, for meetings, trainings, and case‑related activities.
- Hours:
Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM with flexibility for early or late shifts and occasional weekend availability. - Physical requirements:
lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting children with car seats, frequent physical activity. - Trauma‑informed approach required due to handling sensitive topics related to trauma, abuse, and crises.
- Interacting with individuals who may have difficulty managing emotions.
- Preparation for stressful situations that require quick decision‑making to ensure safety.
- Criminal history and background check for finalists; adverse history may lead to disqualification.
- No visa sponsorship; U.S. work authorization required via I‑9 and E‑Verify.
- Finalists must be cleared by the FBI CJIS through a fingerprint‑based check.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
