Berglund Ford in Salem, VA is seeking experienced and motivated A-Level Automotive Technicians / Master Technicians to join our growing service department. As part of our family-owned dealership group, you’ll have the opportunity to advance your career with Ford Factory Training

, your role is critical in diagnosing and repairing advanced automotive systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle systems to manufacturer specifications (including brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, heating/AC, transmission, and engine performance)

  • Perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks

  • Provide accurate labor and time estimates for necessary repairs

  • Communicate effectively with service advisors, clearly explaining mechanical issues and recommended repairs to non-technical individuals

  • Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through ongoing training and certification

  • Assist and mentor lower-level technicians to ensure team success

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience as an automotive technician

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes, A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems, A8 Engine Performance, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team-focused environment

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction

Schedule
  • Full-time, in-person position

  • Day shifts, Monday–Friday with some weekend availability

  • Overtime opportunities may be available
