CP&P is seeking an experienced QC Technician to join the team at our Salem, VA precast plant. In this role, you’ll be responsible for conducting quality control tests and inspections on products to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do- Perform routine testing of concrete and raw materials
- Inspect products at various stages of production
- Document findings and maintain detailed QC records
- Report quality issues to supervisors and work with production teams to resolve them
- Help maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Participate in audits and support continuous improvement efforts
- Follow established safety and quality procedures to help maintain a safe, compliant work environment
- Prior QC experience in a precast concrete manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of concrete testing methods and applicable industry standards
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scales, and testing equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of heavy objects

- A high school diploma or GED
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
- NPCA PQS I certification (or willingness to be trained for and achieve certification)
- VDOT Hydraulic Cement Concrete Plant Technician certification (or willingness to be trained for and achieve certification)
- Monday to Friday, 40+ hours per week, depending on workload
- Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak production periods
- Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping
- Lifting and pushing/pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
- Work is performed in a production environment, with exposure to ambient weather and air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in all production areas
