RN Manager Emergency Room

Location: Salem, VA
Shifts Available:

• 2 Positions: Main Emergency Department (Days & Off-Shift)
• 1 Position: Free-Standing Emergency Department

Compensation: $42.55 – $58.03 per hour (Based on Experience)
Relocation Assistance: $1,500

We are seeking a highly experienced RN Emergency Room Manager to lead emergency care teams at a 500+ bed acute care hospital. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing patient care quality in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.

Department Leadership & Management

• Assume responsibility for unit management in the absence of the Director.
• Plan resources efficiently to manage workload and emergency cases.
• Develop and review unit policies and procedures to enhance patient care.

Staff Development & Coordination

• Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating ED staff.
• Ensure staff compliance with licensure, certifications, and training requirements.
• Facilitate orientation for new employees, students, and volunteers.

Patient Care & Quality Improvement

• Maintain open communication with other departments for coordinated care.
• Ensure high-quality patient outcomes through best practices and compliance.

Education:

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
• BSN Preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active RN License in Virginia (or compact multi-state RN license)
• BLS (Required) | ACLS (Within 1 year) | PALS (Within 1 year)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Required

Experience:

• ER Management Experience Required
• Charge Nurse experience (1 year = 1 year credit)
• Staff RN experience (3 years = 1 year credit)
• Emergency Department Manager experience (1 year = 1 year credit)

Competitive Compensation: Earn up to $58/hr based on experience
Relocation Assistance: $1,500 available
