RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit on the 3rd floor of the main campus

• Maintain patient ratios of 4-5 patients to 1 nurse

• Day shift staffing includes 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator

• Night shift staffing includes 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT

• Work every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts

• Care for cardiac telemetry patients, chest tube patients, and post-surgical patients including open heart, lung, general surgery, and orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring

• Work with cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone), post-catheterization patients, and manage critical drips, epidurals, and PCA pumps

• Perform post cardiac catheterization care, EP studies, device placements, groin management, and chest tube management

• Float to ICU (taking PCU type patients), PCU, and Med-surg units (taking 5 patients)

• Use Meditech EMR system

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

• PCU experience required along with knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients

• Must have chest tube management and epidural experience

• Dress code requires navy or white scrubs (can mix or match)

• Must demonstrate teamwork ability and time management skills with high patient turnover
