Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (Days)

Salem, VA | Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Expected 36 hours/week | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

• Provide direct patient care on a Labor & Delivery unit with 17 inpatient beds and 2 triage beds, maintaining a 1:1–2 patient ratio
• Perform IV insertion, lab draws, blood administration, nitrous administration, vaginal exams, and set up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries
• Conduct strip interpretation, administer common OB medications, and manage antepartum triage
• Serve as circulator in cesarean sections and provide PACU recovery care for patients receiving spinal anesthesia
• Assist with epidural placement, ECV, vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries, and manage common obstetrical complications
• Document accurately using Meditech and Centricity; demonstrate AIDET principles with a teamwork-focused approach to patient care

• Active RN licensure
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

• Familiarity with Monica Novii, Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors, and GE EFM equipment
• Experience with JADA and BAKRI balloon procedures
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
• Comfort floating to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed

• Hospital scrubs provided on-site, allowing for a seamless transition into and out of the unit each shift
• Facility is open to block scheduling, offering greater predictability for travel nurses managing their assignments
