Travel RN – Mother Baby / Nursery (Night Shift)

Salem, VA | Acute Care

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected start October 12, 2026

• Provide couplet care (mother and newborn) with an expected ratio of 3 couplets per nurse
• Assist with labor and delivery, including active labor management, Pitocin administration, and epidural monitoring at a 1:1 ratio
• Support cesarean sections in circulator, first assist, or scrub roles as needed
• Perform OBED triage, inductions, and postpartum and newborn care
• Collaborate with night shift team including clinical coordinator/charge nurse, birth response nurse, and L&D nurses
• Float within the Maternity Care Center unit only — no facility-wide floating required

• Active RN license valid in Virginia (or compact state eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of OB/Labor and Delivery experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN certification required

• Experience with cesarean section in circulator, first assist, or scrub tech role
• Familiarity with Corometrics fetal monitoring equipment
• Experience with Centricity Perinatal and/or Meditech EMR systems
• Energetic, self-directed personality well-suited to a fast-paced maternity environment

• Scrubs are provided by the facility — no out-of-pocket uniform costs
• No on-call requirement for travel staff, with potential opportunity for additional shifts if desired
