Labor and Delivery Nurse in Salem, Virginia. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods within a 17-bed unit. The role requires a focus on patient safety, effective communication, and teamwork to ensure positive outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Job Details- Position Type:
Registered Nurse (RN) with licensure, BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required. - Education Requirements:
Valid RN licensure with a minimum of 0 years of experience. - Location:
Salem, Virginia. - Schedule:
Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Experience:
No minimum years of experience required. - Patient Care Responsibilities:
Managing labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including vaginal exams, epidural placement, and assisting with vaginal deliveries, C/Sections, vacuum, or forceps; performing procedures such as ECV, blood administration, nitrous administration, and administering OB medications. - Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Cardio-Obstetric Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), NRP. - Additional Responsibilities:
Monitor patient progress, provide comfort measures, assist with delivery tables, and ensure adherence to unit policies. - Schedule:
3 12-hour shifts per week, with 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks, and availability for huddles at 6:45.
