RN - ICU

Salem, VA

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The RN will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, applying advanced clinical skills and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform critical care procedures including EVD placements, central line insertions, and lumbar drains.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their conditions and treatments.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Current RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Previous ICU experience is preferred.
• PALS, NIH Stroke Scale certification, and TNCC are advantageous.
