American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring a VA or compact RN license and overnight shift availability.

• 36-bed Med/Surg unit with a staff of 55 including clinical coordinators, RNs, techs, and unit secretaries
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Overnight shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs for patient care
• Charting completed in Meditech EMR
• 13-week assignment

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with post-operative patient care preferred
• Competency in dressing changes, wound care, and drain management preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide care for post-operative patients including wound care and drain management
• Work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative care team
• Strong patient advocacy and positive team attitude expected
• Scrub color requirement:
  Navy Blue or White, no hoodies, pull-overs, or t-shirts
• Unit recognized for top patient experience scores (HCAHPS)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
