Position SummaryThe Assistant Food Service Director works with the Food Service Director to plan, direct, and coordinate activities associated with running a large food service operation with one or more production kitchens. The Assistant Food Service Director is also responsible for supervising a group of food service workers involved with the preparation and distribution of food in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the facility food service operation.
- Hires, orients, trains and issues corrective()[action] to team members.
- Review and approve payroll on a weekly basis.
- Build positive connections with clients by communicating, understanding their needs, proactively addressing concerns and providing excellent service.
- Oversee the preparation and serving of appropriate quantities of food per facility or site plan.
- Ensure the team is adequately trained and capable of performing job responsibilities in a safe and compliant manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory and planned menu schedules.
- Ensure accurate ordering hlah paycheck and completion of required reports on time.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to protect physical assets.
- Manage food service operation in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and required local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Store food items safely and hazard‑free.
- Plan special events through meetings with assigned customer facility operations staff.
- Maintain reservations and serving schedules to ensure all meals match menu specifications.
- Keep a sanitary environment complying with food service and Health Department codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate on‑site reports of daily and monthly financial, production, and activity data.
- Respond to state or other inspections of the food service operation.
- Participate in contract negotiation and renewal process as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a minimum age of 18.
- At least two years of management or supervisory experience in a food service setting.
- Three or more years of experience working in food service.
- Servapụ Certification.
- Experience with purchases, inventory management, ordering, and receiving.
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety standards and practices.
- Basic accounting and mathematical skills required for necessary reports.
- Proficiency in tovább Microsoft Office applications and food service management systems.
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.
