The City of Salina’s Utilities Department is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Wastewater Plant Superintendent to lead the operations of our wastewater treatment facility. This is a vital leadership role overseeing compliance, safety, staff management, and process efficiency in alignment with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Monitor and improve plant performance and treatment processes.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and capital improvements.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and training.
  • Prepare technical reports, regulatory filings, and performance summaries.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in wastewater plant operations.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Valid Class IV Wastewater Certification from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (or ability to obtain).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license required.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $63,670 – 66,851 per year.
