Make a Difference in Public Health and Environmental StewardshipThe City of Salina’s Utilities Department is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Wastewater Plant Superintendent to lead the operations of our wastewater treatment facility. This is a vital leadership role overseeing compliance, safety, staff management, and process efficiency in alignment with federal and state regulations.

- Direct and supervise the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility and staff.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitor and improve plant performance and treatment processes.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and capital improvements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and training.
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory filings, and performance summaries.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in wastewater plant operations.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Valid Class IV Wastewater Certification from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (or ability to obtain).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license required.
Salary: $63,670 – 66,851 per year.
