Position OverviewKenwood View Health & Rehab Center is seeking a knowledgeable and hands‑on Maintenance Director to oversee all aspects of building maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance. This leader ensures our residents, families, and staff enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment every day. The ideal candidate is skilled in building systems, proactive in problem‑solving, and committed to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and perform all corrective and preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections as outlined in the Preventive Maintenance Calendar.
- Maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems in safe working order.
- Ensure the facility remains hazard‑free and compliant with Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Maintain, test, and record results for the fire alarm and emergency generator systems.
- Manage maintenance documentation, logs, and required reports.
- Collaborate with the Administrator on budgeting and planning for the Maintenance Department.
- Order and requisition supplies/equipment with proper approval.
- Assign work schedules and oversee maintenance staff.
- Attend department head meetings and participate in required committees.
- Support emergency preparedness protocols, including safety, fire, and disaster plans.
- Assist with Ambassador Rounds, Manager on Duty program, and have On‑Call responsibilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic training/experience in electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety and compliance purposes.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pulling, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Must pass required health screenings, including a TB test per state guidelines.
- Experience in long‑term care, healthcare facilities, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for life safety, fire prevention, and building codes.
- Ability to interact professionally with residents, families, staff, and regulatory agencies.
