Overview
The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead‑acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.

- Conduct inspection throughout the entire manufacturing process to assure compliance with written specifications.
- Assure setups and adjustments on various equipment are proper prior to use.
- Report discrepancies.
- Prepare daily reports and issue hold tags as required.
- Conduct simple laboratory tests.
- Comply with current quality systems requirements.
- Must cross‑train as quality auditor.
- Must cross‑train in laboratory.
- Must become competent in cross‑trained job.
- Demonstrate leadership ability to junior inspectors/technicians.
- Must work to reduce costs, scrap, rework.
- Work without direct supervision.
- Assist and advise manufacturing personnel to assure zero quality escapes.
- Ability to work safely and manage PbB level.
Hazardous waste training will be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position and a review of this training will be provided every 12 months thereafter.
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to wear respirator.
- Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
- Occasionally lifting from grams up to 50 pounds.
- Various testing equipment and measuring instruments.
- Computer and safety equipment as required.
- Desired: associate degree in chemistry or engineering or minimum 2 years experience in auditing or relevant experience.
- Communication skills to verbally instruct and interact with employees and supervisors.
- Computer skills to enter data and create reports.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
