Service Technician Apprenticeship

This is a Registered Apprenticeship program in partnership with Salina Area Technical College. Candidates must be enrolled at Salina Area Technical College.

As a Geoprobe service technician apprentice, you'll be part of a dedicated team focused on providing top service through efficient rig repairs and maintenance. Your role will involve inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of our technical drilling rigs. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills - able to clearly describe problems and processes, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for helping others.

As an apprentice, you will learn to:

• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend and repair all critical machine and engine adjustments
• Study, read, and interpret schematic engineering drawings
• Test to ensure accuracy of repairs
• Maintain detailed records of service interactions, solutions provided, and follow-up actions.
• Timely input of machine-related customer interactions entered into internal system.
• Complete all assignments in a timely manner and meet service delivery schedules.

• Enrolled and in good standing in the Diesel Technician program at Salina Area Technical College
• Must provide one reference that is an instructor at your high school or Salina Area Technical College.
• Possess mechanical aptitude
• Helpful experience includes any of the following: farm background or farm work experience, work on engines or automotive components, or shop class(es)
• Proficient with hand tools
• Basic PC knowledge
• Able to lift 50+ lbs
