Diesel Mechanic/Technician

We are looking for a skilled diesel technician to join our team. Whether you are starting your career or are an experienced industry veteran, we offer a full range of training and growth opportunities across our Tech I to Tech IV levels.

Pay range: $15.00 - $32.00 per hour DEQ plus $8.00 per billed hour commission.

Essential

Job Duties / Functions
  • Perform PMs, oil changes, and greasing of trucks and trailers.
  • Carry out tire services and CSA/DOT inspections.
  • Conduct service calls and night call‑outs.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced electrical repair and diagnostics.
  • Complete intermediate to advanced wheel‑end repair (S‑cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, race and bearing replacement, wheel seals, etc.).
  • Perform intermediate air system repair (basic diagnostics, tank replacement, air bags, leveling valves, dash valves, etc.).
  • Conduct basic HVAC repair (evacuate & recharge, verify cause of failure).
  • Complete basic coolant repairs (thermostat, water pump, hoses, fittings, radiator, etc.).
  • Perform basic welding.
  • Conduct basic starting/charging diagnostics (batteries, alternators, starters, etc.).
  • Perform basic engine repair (belts, tensioners, pulleys).
  • Perform basic steering and suspension work (shocks, reservoirs, filters, alignment, etc.).
  • Perform basic drivetrain and transmission repairs (clutch adjustments, U‑joints, carrier bearings, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop and keep it clutter‑free.
  • Ensure all service equipment is in good working order, cleaned, and repaired as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage of parts, tires, and other items.
  • Complete work orders with accurate customer and warranty information.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction and uphold the integrity of Bosselman Enterprises.
  • Practice and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete the OSHA Skills Demonstration within the first week of employment.
  • Keep up‑to‑date on all LMS training.
  • Provide friendly and competent customer service.
  • Report for work on time when scheduled.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience (certifications and licenses)
  • Tire Service Certified by TIA within 18 months of employment.
  • Air Brake Certification.
  • DOT Medical Card required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a diesel technician.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability.
  • Completion of brake training.
  • Completion of wheel seal training.
  • Ability to attend HVAC, electrical, and DOT training.
  • Ability to obtain ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and phone.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Embodies friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Works cooperatively with teammates.
  • Demonstrated proficiency required by the Tech I training program.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, reaching with arms, speaking, and hearing.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
