Electrician/ Electrician Installation, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Senior Electrician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems throughout the hospital to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of electrical codes, healthcare facility standards (such as NFPA 70 and NFPA 99), and infection control protocols. The Senior Electrician interprets blueprints and schematics, troubleshoots complex electrical issues, and ensures all work complies with safety and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the facilities team, this position supervises junior electricians, coordinates work to minimize disruption to patient care, and leads projects that support the hospital’s operational integrity. Strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance are essential to success in this role.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program
- 5 years of experience as an electrician
- 2 years in a supervisory or senior role preferred
- Prior experience in Healthcare setting preferred
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license –State specific certification preferred
- Valid Kansas driver’s license with clear driving record preferred
- Perform basic “first responder” for fires and assist in restraining individuals. (Dr. Armstrong)
