Mental Health, Substance Abuse Counselor
Responsible for facilitating the Residential program, serving the special needs of program participants involved with the behavioral health or criminal justice system who are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Provide medical observation and substance abuse referral. Maintain a safe, cooperative, caring atmosphere. Level I or II is based on education and licensure with the State of California.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOne year’s experience in alcohol and drug addiction treatment, recovery, or prevention. If in recovery, approved amount of time in continuous sobriety. Certification as a medical assistant, nursing assistant or emergency medical technician within the State of California is required.
This position is dayshift, overnight shift, and weekend shifts.
NOTE:
Employees will be required to be fingerprinted, TB tested, fitness for duty, and will be subject to clearance by the department of Justice.
