Occupational Therapy - Patient-Facing Leadership Role | $120,000–$158,000 Monterey County, California

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift (5×8s)
Setting: Hospital-based | Inpatient, Outpatient, Acute Care & SNF

Imagine leading without losing the part of OT you love most—direct patient care—while living on California's Central Coast. This role is built for an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to step into leadership without stepping away from clinical practice
.

Youll remain hands-on with patients while shaping OT programs, mentoring clinicians, and strengthening care delivery across multiple hospital-based settings in Monterey County
—an area known for its coastline, open space, and slower pace compared to major metros.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • $120,000–$158,000 annual salary range
  • True hybrid role: ~80% patient care, ~20% leadership & program development
  • Exposure across inpatient, outpatient, acute care, and skilled nursing
  • Early-to-mid career leadership opportunity with real influence—not just a title
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary environment that values mentorship and autonomy
  • Coastal California living with access to beaches, trails, and small-town communities
What You’ll Do
  • Evaluate and treat patients across multiple service lines and care settings
  • Guide and expand OT programs to improve consistency, outcomes, and workflow
  • Mentor and support clinicians through coaching, training, and collaboration
  • Partner on documentation standards, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical leader while remaining embedded in day-to-day patient care
What Were Looking For
  • Graduate of an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • California OT license (active or eligible)
  • 5+ years of clinical OT experience
  • Interest in leadership, mentorship, and program ownership
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience welcomed, not required
  • Certified Clinical Instructor (CCI) credential is a plus
  • Comfort with Spanish-speaking patients—or interest in developing those skills
Skills That Help You Thrive
  • Experience with EMRs (Cerner familiarity preferred)
  • Organized, steady leadership style with strong follow-through
  • Ability to balance independent clinical judgment with service-line priorities
  • Working knowledge of healthcare documentation (ICD-10 / CPT preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a huge plus
