Position Overview
Plant HR Manager – Latitude 36 Foods –
Location:
Salinas, CA (On‑site, 1st shift).
Full‑time, exempt position reporting to the VP of HR.
Annual compensation: $ – $, plus medical, dental, vision coverage and up to 4% 401(k) match.
Position SummaryThe primary responsibility of the HR Plant Manager is to oversee all human resources operations within a manufacturing facility, functioning as a strategic partner to plant leadership to align HR objectives with overall business goals. This role requires a blend of strategic planning and hands‑on, tactical HR expertise in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred or equivalent education and experience.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP) preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management or generalist role within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations (OSHA), and HR best practices.
- Strategic HR Knowledge – Ability to support company’s strategic plan.
- Business Acumen – Apply information to support organizational strategy.
- Ethical Practice – Maintain integrity, uphold core values, ensure legal compliance.

- Lead HR initiatives in employee engagement, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, communications, training/benefits, safety, and policy interpretation.
- Implement company culture, values and policies.
- Collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
- Consult line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Analyze trends and metrics with HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct thorough investigations.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
- Provide day‑to‑day performance management guidance to line managers.
- Support business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
- Identify training needs for units and executive coaching.
- Manage and report on HR KPIs and core data, providing insights for short‑ and long‑term workforce planning.
- Lead recruitment and selection activities with functional leaders.
- Lead HR process improvement initiatives, special projects, and training from start to finish.
- Advising managers on employee relations, laws, and company policies.
- Interact with employees to answer questions, resolve issues, improve morale.
- Lead and implement environmental health and safety programs.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, move up and down stairs, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and reach.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.
