RN – NICU

Salinas, CA | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients in a Level III NICU, with a primary census of Level II patients including growers and feeders as early as 24–25 weeks gestation
• Maintain acuity-based patient assignments, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• May float to Labor & Delivery to assist with neonatal resuscitation until the infant is stable and through the first 10 minutes of life
• May float to Pediatrics as an additional resource; no patient assignment required in that setting
• Document patient care using Meditech (WOWs provided); administer medications via Pyxis; manage IV therapy using Solaris pumps
• Work 3–4 twelve-hour weekend shifts per 28-day schedule, with scheduling determined by unit leadership based on experience and skill set

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a NICU setting
• Professional scrubs required; no other facility names or logos permitted on scrubs

• Experience caring for premature infants at 24–25 weeks gestation
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records
• Experience with neonatal resuscitation in Labor & Delivery settings

• Work in the only Trauma Center serving Monterey County and surrounding communities, within a recognized regional hospital known for clinical excellence
