Lift Truck Service Technician III at Total Industries
OverviewAs a Service Technician, you’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel, and hydraulic material handling equipment. Your work will address the root problem, not just symptoms. You’ll also identify additional safety or mechanical issues during service, submit daily quotes, and complete work orders. If assigned a field territory, you must be able to park a company vehicle at your residence and travel to customer locations;
a solid DMV record is required.
Your day‑to‑day activities will be assigned by a Service Advisor and include:
- Performing periodic, routine maintenance services, safety inspections, and repairs on lift trucks and other industrial equipment.
- Working safely and efficiently, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Communicating clearly with customers and colleagues through written and verbal reports.
- Ensuring all repairs are complete and documented before closing a work order.
- At least six months’ experience working on engines and other equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proven diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Self‑sufficient, safe work habits under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to concentrate on tasks for extended periods.
- Alignment with company values.
- Experience using a computer tablet, typing, and photography.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams) and other dealer applications.
- Valid motor vehicle and equipment driving record to travel to customer sites.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance; availability for overtime and weekends.
- Qualified DMV record, background check, and drug screening.
- ASE certifications.
- Master Certified Technician (non‑Toyota).
- Technical school certificate of completion.

- Use a tablet as a work tool; fine hand movements required for data entry.
- Lift 50 lbs without assistance and 100 lbs with assistance or a lifting device.
- Occasional stoops, kneels, and crouches; work safely at heights with ladders and elevated platforms.
- Noise level varies by worksite.
