SUBURBAN BOARD COACH OPERATOR

- Under supervision drive a minibus or vehicle with a capacity for 21 passengers or less in scheduled passenger service.
- Operate vehicle in transit service in a safe manner.
- Collect fares; provide information, inspect, and report safety or mechanical defects aboard vehicle.
Ability to deal with all kinds of people in a positive and pleasant manner; read time‑tables, maps, and other written instructions; write brief reports; collect fares and cash; work unusual hours; converse with public effectively; familiarity with MST service area; ability to obtain Class B driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one to two years in a job with regular contact with the public.
- Previous bus driving experience helpful but not required.
- Clean driving record: licensed driver, 5 years preferred; valid California driver’s license at time of application and meet all qualifications specified by the State of California for a Class B Driver’s License.
- In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, must be prepared to offer documents to support employment eligibility.
- Safe driving criteria, as well as the number of DMV points within a prescribed timeframe, are used to determine if an application may be considered for further processing.
Must pass a post‑offer pre‑employment drug screening and pre‑employment background check as well as a DMV required physical examination; obtain a Class B instruction permit with air‑brakes certification and passenger endorsement, or possess a valid Class B license; participate in random drug and alcohol testing as mandated by the Department of Transportation.
Sign On BonusNew employees who have successfully passed and completed the MST Training Program will receive a $
500.00 sign‑on bonus. After the completion of 1,000 hours in step 1, you will receive $1,000.00
