Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Development Engineer - Interior Components. If you are interested in an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a leading company, we want to talk with you!
Hourly pay rate: $50.50/hour

Saline, Michigan
Duration:
Long-term contract
Ability to work up to 20% overtime required
Job Responsibilities- Coordinate the design and development of interior components (Instrument Panel and Trim).
- Manage component development through the entire design cycle—from concept to production—using Toyota development methodologies and processes.
- Execute designs in CATIA V5, both independently and by leading Supplier Engineers or CAD modelers.
- Conduct packaging and layout studies.
- Create drawings and 3D models following TEMA-specified design processes.
- Manage and adjust priorities to meet project targets for schedule, performance, cost, and quality.
- Visualize and communicate issues, concerns, and gaps related to parts and design processes; participate in improvement and reflection activities.
- Travel as needed to suppliers, North American manufacturing plants, and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.
- Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with suppliers, affiliates, and Toyota Motor Corporation.
- Apply project management principles to ensure successful delivery.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of engineering design experience with interior components.
- Minimum 8 years of experience using CATIA V5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience preferred.
