The City of Saline is seeking an experienced, forward thinking Director of Public Services to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our growing, high-performing community. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated public services professional who is passionate about innovation and building strong, well-maintained municipal infrastructure.

Under the general direction of the City Manager, the Director plans, organizes, directs, and supervises the operation of the City’s Public Services to maintain the quality and safety of the City’s infrastructure and utilities.

• Provides management, administrative oversight, and strategic direction for the three divisions making up the Department of Public Services – Public Works, Engineering, and Utilities.
• Develops policies and procedures with City Administration to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of city infrastructure and utilities.
• Prepares and administers annual department budget and long-term Capital Improvement Plan.
• Assists in land use development policies, procedures, and standards.
• Oversees the management of the City’s water sanitary sewer facilities in a manner compliant with State and federal requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized training or course work in civil engineering, building construction management, public administration, or a related field required.
• Minimum ten years of progressively more responsible experience in the construction, maintenance, engineering and/or operation of public infrastructure systems or equivalent.
• Minimum seven years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
• State of Michigan S-2 water distribution license or ability to obtain within first 12 months of hire.
• Storm Water Management Operator Construction and Industrial certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

$107,000–$125,000 DOQ, plus competitive benefits.
