We are excited to offer a full‑time entry‑level position for a Fitness Program Manager at our client site in Ann Arbor and York, MI.
Job OverviewAs Fitness Program Manager, you will manage and direct all operational aspects of two on‑site fitness programs, ensuring high participation, results, and customer satisfaction. You will also handle contract compliance, strategic planning, staff supervision and training, program design, and administrative duties, including outcome‑focused reporting.
Key Accountabilities- Manage all program activities in accordance with Health Fitness operational, quality, safety, and service standards.
- Develop and implement the yearly strategic business plan, identifying contract deliverables, program offerings, targeted outcomes, and marketing strategy. Prepare and manage the operating budget in line with policies and procedures.
- Lead regular staff meetings to inform associates of Health Fitness, client, and program events, initiatives, and status.
- Ensure contract compliance and maintain high customer satisfaction, reinforcing Health Fitness value.
- Direct implementation of individual and group fitness programs, health education, motivational activities, and special events; coordinate marketing to maximize engagement.
- Track participant and program data for measurement of goals, outcomes, and results; prepare management reports based on business plan objectives.
- Conduct safety checks daily and perform routine safety audits on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Perform staff duties such as floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescription, new member orientation, personal training, and group class instruction.
- Coordinate with the Director of Program Management & Engagement to introduce new Health Fitness programs, products, and services.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- At least 2 years of related industry experience.
- Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from an approved organization, with an in‑person component.
- Ability to lead, manage, and operate a fitness center.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to motivate others.
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must meet all pre‑employment requirements, including drug testing.
- Industry‑recognized group exercise certification (ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, NETA) or a NCCA‑accredited personal trainer certification from an approved agency.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Base salary $45,000–$48,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional commission available for certified personal trainers.
