Position: Child Development Center Application POOL

Overview

Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications to fill various positions in the Jordan Center (on-campus child development center).

CURRENTLY FILLING VACANCIES FOR

  • CHILD CARE TEACHER [FULL-TIME]

Positions filled from this application pool include a range of Child Care Aides, Child Care Teachers, Pre-K roles, and substitutes with varying pay ranges and schedules. All positions are considered mandatory reporters for the Department of Human Services. See details and basic requirements for each position below.

Base pay range

$18.82/hr - $23.10/hr

Basic position requirements

  • Child Care Aides (Full- or Part-Time; 37.5 hrs/week FT or 25 hrs/week PT)
  • Full-Time hours:
    Variable daytime schedule | 37.5 hours/week | Full benefits package
  • Part-Time hours:
    Mon–Fri, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. | Limited benefits package
  • High school diploma or equivalent; CDA preschool certificate or 90 hours certification
  • One year of experience in an approved childcare setting preferred
  • Excellent human relations, verbal and written communications; ability to work with small children
  • Ability to complete at least six clock hours of continuing education per year
  • Child Care Teachers (Full-Time; 37.5 hrs/week)
  • Hours of work:
    Variable daytime schedule | 37.5 hours/week | Full benefits package
  • Associate degree in early childhood education, child development or related field or 30 hours of approved coursework; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of supervised experience with preschoolers in an approved setting
  • Excellent human relations, verbal and written communication; ability to work with small children; and demonstrated communication skills for childcare professionals
  • Ability to complete at least 12 clock hours of continuing education per year
  • Pre-K Instructional Assistants (Part-Time; 25 hrs/week; 10 months)
  • Hours:

    Mon–Fri, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 25 hours/week | No benefits
  • Associate degree in early childhood education, child development or related field or valid CDA credential
  • Two years of experience with 3-4 year olds in a pre-K setting
  • Excellent organizational, self-starter, human relations and communication skills; ability to work with teachers, students, parents and staff
  • Ability to complete at least 15 clock hours of continuing education per year
  • Pre-K Teacher’s Assistants (Full-Time; 37.5 hrs/week; 10 months)
  • Hours:

    Variable daytime schedule | Follows Wicomico County Public Schools calendar | Full benefits
  • Associate degree in early childhood education, child development or related field or valid CDA credential
  • Two years of experience with 3-4 year olds in a pre-K setting
  • Excellent organizational, self-starter, human relations and verbal and written communication skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents and staff
  • Ability to complete at least 15 clock hours of continuing education per year
  • Pre-K Teachers (Full-Time; 37.5 hrs/week; 10 months)
  • Hours:

    Variable daytime schedule | Follows Wicomico County Public Schools calendar | Full benefits
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; teaching certification preferred
  • Two years of pre-K teaching experience
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication; leadership skills for working with students, parents and administrators
  • Ability to complete at least 15 clock hours of continuing education per year
  • Substitutes (Aides and Teachers)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Substitute teachers must have at least 90 clock hours in Child Growth and Development, 9 clock hours of communication coursework, and proof of college credits
  • Substitutes will be vetted and called to fill in as needed
  • Minimum requirements for all positions
