Salary (Non negotiable)
• Commensurate with education, highly qualified status (as determined by Human Resources), and verified full time experience. Includes employee benefits package.
Paygrade 5 $ 21,339 - $28,945 High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Paygrade 6 $ 22,422 - $30,397 48 college credits or qualifying scores on the Parapro Assessment.
Paygrade 7 $ 23,531 - $31,901 Bachelor's degree or higher.
Hours:
10 months, 35 hours per week, 182 days (1274 annual hours).
Contract Unit:
This position is part of the non‑supervisory support services bargaining unit.
FLSA:
Non‑exempt
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- To meet highly qualified standards, applicants for this position in a Title I school or program must upload transcript(s) verifying a minimum of 48 credit hours of college education from an accredited institution recognized by MSDE.
- Have a qualifying score on the Para Pro Assessment Test.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and associates.
- Ability to use classroom and instructional equipment.
- Ability to operate audiovisual equipment, standard office machines, and word/data processing programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language when deemed necessary.
- Excellent organizational and self‑starter skills.
- Assist teacher or other professionals to achieve instructional objectives.
- Work with students in small groups on a specific concept/skill according to the students' skill level.
- Assist with large group activities, field trips, and other special programs/activities for students.
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce material introduced by teacher.
- Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by teacher or therapist.
- Escort students to special classes and therapy.
- Guide independent study and other work assigned by teacher.
- Assist students with mobility needs, assist with loading and unloading buses.
- Report student problems to teacher and assist with student problems.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, snack, cleanup, lavatory, clothing, personal hygiene, and wash‑up routines.
- Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the building principal.
