Systems Engineer, Electronics Technician
Engineering Technician – Microwave Products Group
Engineering Technicians may utilize design information, test equipment, and/or software to successfully prototype and test filter products and assemblies. Must have knowledge of various filter technologies (lumped element, cavity, distributed, ceramic, thin-film, etc.), active circuitry (PIN Diodes, amplifiers, bias, and control), linear and non-linear RF parameters, and troubleshooting. Must be able to competently use basic hand tools such as soldering irons, electronic assembly equipment, calipers, and hand tools.
The position supports engineering in prototyping, pre-production, and resolving production related issues. Excellent communications and documentation skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are required.
Base pay range
$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Job responsibilities
- Under minimal supervision, perform a variety of technical tasks in support of the engineering department including prototyping, troubleshooting, testing, supporting production-related issues, documentation, design of experiments, evaluation and characterization of components.
- Use test equipment such as network analyzers, signal analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, function generators, high power amplifiers, and multimeters.
- Set up, perform, and interpret measurements including, but not limited to, gain, noise figure, 1 dB compression, intermodulation, harmonics, spurious, switching speed, etc.
- Troubleshoot problems and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
- Work from minimal documentation, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, layouts, datasheets, and plans, often requiring interpretation.
- Work on assignments requiring sound judgment and self-initiative; demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
- Apply electronic theory to configure, model, layout, prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, and modify electronic products for engineering efforts in the department.
- May assist engineers with the design and development of new processes and/or products.
Qualifications Summary
Associates Degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent military training, with 5 years related experience in RF and Microwave testing and tuning. In the absence of a degree, 10 years of work experience required. Previous soldering experience or skills preferred. Thorough knowledge of calibration, components, circuit function, interpreting drawings, troubleshooting, and schematics.
Must Have Requirements
- AA ET degree with 5 years' experience or 10 years work experience in related field

- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (if applicable)
- Works from minimal documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, and layouts
