Position SummaryThe Sonographer works as a medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of OB patients. The Sonographer works as part of a diverse team of OB sonographers skilled in the care of high‑risk obstetric patients. This position reports to the Clinical Manager.
Primary Accountabilities Achieve Results- Ensure the safe, productive, and efficient sonography operations.
- Ensure all patients enjoy a positive experience, treated with the care and compassion expected.
- Ensure all tasks associated with patient care, patient administrative processes, and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as clinical policies and procedures.
- Establish favorable working relationships with all staff members associated with center operations, including medical receptionists, nurses, physicians, and related staff.
- Uphold and consistently represent the values and mission of the organization at all times.
- Represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
- Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform high-risk ultrasound studies in accordance with AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) guidelines.
- Perform nuchal translucency studies in accordance with FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation) guidelines.
- Maintain ARDMS and FMF certifications as required.
- Assist the physician in invasive procedures (e.g., CVS, amniocentesis).
- Work as a team member in keeping rooms stocked, clean, and reporting problems with equipment as needed.
- Properly disinfect ultrasound probes as needed.
- Properly dispose of biohazardous material as needed.
- Perform charting in Viewpoint in a timely manner.
- Efficiently use Athena and Viewpoint for scheduling and reporting of exams.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of obstetrical sonography techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs for sonography.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written English.
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population, assisting with positive health outcomes for the individual, family, and community.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, pull, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrate a high level of problem‑solving skill to better serve patients and staff.
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Registered in OB/GYN by the ARDMS (new graduates must be registered within 6 months of hire).
- Certification through the FMF in nuchal translucency and nasal bone within 1 year of employment.
- Experience in high-risk OB ultrasound preferred.
Job Type: Part‑time
Pay: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour
