Description

Accredited by The Joint Commission, Hudson Behavioral Health is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing Behavioral Health Treatment in Salisbury, Maryland. Since its inception in 1980, Hudson Behavioral Health has been providing cutting edge treatment for Substance Use and other co-occurring disorders. Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, 3.1 Housing and Outpatient Mental Health.
We are looking for a Peer Recovery Specialist who can work at least one shift on the weekends.
This position will include day and some evening hours.
Responsibilities- Relate to individuals as an advocate, promoting person-centered recovery and wellness support services.
- Serve as a voice of the individual in team/clinical meeting
- Serve as a role model.
- Meet with individuals to provide peer mentoring, linkages to resources, and share (as appropriate) his or her personal recovery story, and provide hope.
- Recognize and maintain professional and personal boundaries.
- Practice non-judgmental behavior.
- Educate through shared experiences.
- Support the development of effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- On call crisis intervention, including assisting in AMA blocks at all levels of care (evenings and weekends probable).

- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of personal or professional experience in the field of Addiction.
- Peer Certification or currently eligible or willing to work towards peer support certification within 1 year of hire date.
- Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 violations.
