Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this full-time position is to further develop and supervise the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program in Wicomico County including implementation of the program mission and development of policies and procedures for advancement of the mission. The position will build and develop additional relationships in the community to enhance the service and provide additional education for the community.

This position will also work with the program supervisor in developing the LEAD program and supervise and train any staff placed in the program. Data collection and distribution will also be required for this position as well as participation in any state or local meetings regarding Harm Reduction and LEAD services. Additionally, this position will provide case management to a caseload of clients.

This position is designated as emergency essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Experience:

    Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
  • Notes:
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the behavioral health field to include basic knowledge of harm reduction.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Case management experience.
