About the JobThis is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible position with competitive pay, signing bonus, and comprehensive benefits.
Reporting ToFitting Supervisor / On‑Site Foreman / Shipyard Superintendent.
Major ResponsibilitiesReading and interpreting blueprints; fabricating metal components or structures.
Essential Functions & Tasks- Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Construct base templates if necessary.
- Measure and mark out cutting.
- Operate metalwork machinery (rollers, drill presses, plasma cutters, pipe benders, welding machines).
- Perform MIG welding of 5083, 6061 T6, and 5086 aluminum plates.
- Perform TIG welding of stainless steel parts.
- Perform SMAW welding with 6010 & 7018.
- Double‑check design specifications before cutting.
- Fabricate and construct metal components.
- Grind and finish products.
- Conform with state and company safety regulations.
- Inspect work for accuracy and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of experience welding/fabricating aluminum.
- Ability to set up MIG, TIG, and SMAW machines.
- Experience with shop and field fabrication, assembly sequencing, and fitting.
- Proficiency reading blueprints, sketches, and templates.
- Familiarity with industry codes and regulations.
- Safe use of all tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and with teams.
- Required physical movement and use of upper/lower extremities.
- Work outside in varying weather.
- Crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend frequently; use ladders up to 24 ft and heights up to 70 ft; work in confined spaces.
- Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Work over bodies of water.
Normal visual and hearing acuity, ability to understand and follow instructions, hand‑eye coordination. Hazards include weather, fumes, high noise, moving mechanical parts, equipment vibration.
ShiftMonday–Friday, Day Shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Salary & BenefitsSalary: $25 – $30 per hour, based on experience and weld test.
Additional benefits: $1,000 signing bonus; $20,000 AD&D life insurance; short‑term disability at no cost;
Health Savings Account; 401(k) match after 1 year; six paid holidays; paid sick and vacation per policy.
Overtime available after 40 hours; $2.00 differential for evening and night shifts. Overtime and weekend work required based on business needs.
